FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions below. If you still have a question, please email info@stingmasters.com or contact us using the form above.

Why StingMasters and not AI?

We posed this question to ChatGPT, asking it to visit stingmasters.com and give us it’s thoughts. This is what it said:

“What AI struggles with is the stuff your examples keep highlighting:

  • Understanding the emotional significance of a specific event.
  • Taking a 1973 recording of Sir Laurence Olivier and deciding how it should sit against music whilst the wedding register being signed.
  • Judging whether a winner’s walk-on sting should be 8, 12, or 17 seconds because of the venue layout.
  • Being accountable when the result matters.

The technology can produce audio. The service is what people are paying for.”

(We couldn’t have paid ChatGPT for a better response…!)

What is the process?

We begin with a free 15-minute video or phone call to discuss your ideas and what you’d like to achieve. Whether you have a clear vision or just a rough concept, we’ll help shape it into something that works musically.

We’ll talk through your chosen songs, any special moments you’d like to include, and how we would approach the final arrangement. Once we’ve outlined our ideas, you can decide whether you’d like to proceed.

How much lead-in time is required?

Ideally, for best results, as long as possible. However, we also understand that there can be a time pressure, so please do let us know when you enquire.

Whilst rare, we have been required to turn around a track on the same day.

Typically, for an uncomplicated edit, please allow 48hrs to receive the completed track.

What format do you send the tracks?

You will receive a standard, stereo interleaved .wav file as well as an .mp3 version.

Is there a maximum duration for the track?

Not necessarily, the quote is based on the number of edits. However, if the track exceeds 10 minutes there may be an additional fee, as all completed tracks require several real-time reviews to ensure they are perfect.

What if I don't like the end result?

Before committing, we carefully review the song selections to ensure they will work as intended. If they don’t, we’ll either recommend suitable alternatives or choose not to proceed – rather than create something that doesn’t meet our standards.

Whilst we have never had an unhappy customer, we appreciate that this process can be incredibly personal – therefore we will do our upmost to accommodate any feedback or requested changes.

Do you do Voice of God?

Yes, we do. Some of the tracks across the website include us doing the VOG, where either the timing was critical to the track (such as 4-track funeral example) or simply to create a bigger impact (the Best Man’s Speech).

Who chooses the tracks?

For any meaningful occasion, whether that’s a wedding, funeral or even a birthday party, we would suggest you choose the tracks, however we are on hand to help with your choices, or if you give us a detailed brief, we can find a selection of relevant tracks.

This also applies to event organisers. If you brief us with what you are looking to achieve, we can come up with a selection of tracks that we feel would fit the event.

How much does it cost?

Prices start from £60 for a simple edit.
